So what do we actually know about dried flowers?!

How long do dried flowers last?

Dried flowers can last for a number of years. Between 1 & 3 years normally. The conditions they are kept in effects their longevity. They much prefer dry places, they are not suitable for bathrooms or kitchens as they can retain the moisture and go mouldy! Keep them somewhere nice and dry and you will be able to enjoy them for as long as possible.

How do I care for my dried flowers?

A plus side of dried flowers is that they don't require much maintenance at all! They don't need to be watered. Just store them in a dry place and delicately dust them every once in while. Keep them out of direct sunlight to stop them going brittle and to avoid the colours fading.

Can I dry my own flowers?

If you want to have a go at drying your own flowers the best thing to try is hanging your flowers. Make sure your stems are dry, tie them in bunches of 10 and then hang upside down in a warm dry place. It is better if the area they are kept in is dark/out of direct sunlight, to avoid the colours from fading. Leave them to dry for 2-3 weeks!

Do dried flowers still smell nice?

Some flowers do keep their original scent after they've been dried, but not all flowers do. Flowers particularly good at keeping their fragrance after drying include, lavender, strawflowers and scented roses.

Dried flowers are great for sentimental purposes. You can dry flowers from an important occasion to keep them for longer. Once dried they can also be transformed into jewellery and resin keepsakes which make great gifts.

Dried flowers are great for craft projects, you can create all kinds of things like; wreaths, artwork, flower crowns, confetti, potpourii & more!

Another great selling point of dried flowers.... they don't cause Hayfever! If you're someone who loves flowers but majorly struggles with the pollen element then dried flowers are a great alternative for your home.

I definitely think dried flowers are a popular trend that will continue well into 2021! Head over to our shop page to purchase yours :) x
